Advice Services

The bureau can discuss your individual problems with you or you can look up answers on our Adviceguide website.

Adviceguide is the online CAB information service that gives you information on your rights and helps you take the first steps in sorting out problems. The site covers a wide range of topics, including benefits, employment, housing, and has help on debt, consumer and legal issues. There is information in other languages, and also a large number of fact sheets to print off and use for reference.

As well as looking at Adviceguide, you might find our useful links section helpful. It features links to government, charity and other organisations' websites that might help you to solve your problem.

Our advice workers can give you free, confidential, impartial and independent information and advice on a wide range of subjects, including - social security benefits - consumer rights - taxation - debt and credit - housing - work problems - family and relationship problems - the legal system - local services and groups - health and disability - neighbourhood problems - immigration and nationality - human rights - education - travel - and much more.

We have the time to discuss your situation fully, and to make sure you know exactly what you are entitled to and how to put matters right. We can work with you to sort out any debt worries or help you with housing and employment problems, or deal with queries about consumer or tax issues. We can advise on legal matters, answer questions about immigration, and we have lots of experience on family and personal matters too. We also offer some specialist advice services including Money advice, Welfare benefits, Housing and Employment.

If you are not familiar with security on the Web then you may find it useful to view the security section of our contact page which contains information on how to keep your web usage private. Please note the following when sending an enquiry.

• Please ensure you include both your full name and your address
• Please do not send any attachments as they may be blocked by our anti-virus system.
• For security reasons we will only reply to the address of the sender, not to any other address.
• As we currently receive a great many spam messages for each enquiry it is important that the subject line of your message is descriptive to avoid it being missed among the spam.
• We aim to reply within seven days.

If you have not received a response within 10 working days then it is probable that your enquiry or our response has been lost somewhere in the system, so please re-send your message detailing when you sent your original message.

Important: The address advice@Macclesfieldcab.org.uk is the only Macclesfield Citizens Advice Bureau address that can deal with e-mail enquiries. All other addresses for the service are only used for internal or non-advice related communications.
